Dr. Mercy Bashir, DNP, AGPCNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, is a Clinical Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program. Dual board-certified in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care and Psychiatric Mental Health, she brings extensive clinical expertise and over a decade of academic experience to her role. Dr. Bashir previously spent nearly 11 years teaching at Salem State University before joining UMass Boston in June 2025. She is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran who served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard and the U.S. Air Force Reserves, experiences that continue to shape her dedication to service and nursing education.
